Employing a lethal blend of Metal and Modern Rock, His Name Was Yesterday's decade plus long tenure on the music scene has been nothing short of accomplished. From being signed as an official Jägermeister band, touring independently across the country multiple times, acquiring several brand ambassador sponsorships, and being invited to play on some of the countries' largest stages alongside Korn, Five Finger Death Punch, Rob Zombie, Atreyu, HELLYEAH and others, 'HNWY' (affectionately dubbed by friends and fans alike) is once again blazing their own path through the music industry. The Buffalo, NY based quintet originated in 2008 with their EP Witness to a Dying World, recorded with Doug White at Watchmen Studios (Gym Class Heroes, Buried Alive, Cute Is What We Aim For), and immediately hit the road in support of the EP for the next two years gaining attention across the country. Their relentless drive and strong acclaim from the EP led them to recording their full length self titled record His Name Was Yesterday with Mike Hatalak of DWS Studios (It Dies Today, Stemm, Blessed By A Broken Heart), and once again hit the pavement on multiple tours to support the record, including Jagermeister sponsored U.S. tour Ride or Die with Stemm & Adakain. After a relentless schedule of touring and releasing music for years, The Nickel City's hardest working band went on hiatus only to make a return in late 2021 with the single Fear No End, signaling their permanent return to music.
